Greetings from Colorado
Hello All,
I have been a long time member of ADVRider but I came on over to check out the website and to also try to help my buddy Sam who just completed an Arizona,US to Ushuaia, Argentina motorcycle trip on his KLR. He is leaving today and heading north to Santiago,Chile and thinks it may take him about a week to get there. He is planning on flying out of Santiago,Chile and has been contacted by someone who is a member of the Forum here who goes by the Username of GS Chile Raider (possibly Rider as his text had several grammatical errors). He said he was associated with and was the official motorcycle carriers of BMW Riders in Chile. All the info he passed along appears to be legit based on what I have seen on this website regarding shipping a bike from Chile back to the U.S. He said that more info on the shipping company could be found at the Horizons Unlimited website.
I spent almost an hour trying to do a search for his Username with no luck. If anyone is familiar with this member can you please respond with the correct Username so I may be able to message him. Thanks for any help in this regard!

Hello again,
Just a quick follow-up since I have received no replies from this initial request. I was able to locate the person associated with the shipping company in Santiago,Chile.
I am not certain if this is the person who goes by Username GS Chile Raider but it appears to be. If anyone is interested in shipping a bike from Santiago to Los Angeles:

Hi,
Welcome to HU! Sorry you had no luck or responses - I suspect no one else could find him either.
He is NOT registered at that email address, and I tried several variations on the user name with no luck.
Someone shipped with him back in 2012 from Santiago to Zurich.
They had this to say: Julio speaks spanish and good english. You can contact him, he'll answer during working days in minutes! All necessary information i gave him by email, we just set a date to meet at the cargo terminal at the airport. The bike was packed and all formalities done within 2 (yes two!) hours. So you can arrive in Santiago just in time and you don't need to spend days running around sorting stuff out. The bike arrived punctually and sound in Zurich, where I unpacked it and drove home. Julio has a lot of experience in sending bikes wherever you want them to go and he is happy to meet motorcycle travellers as he used to ride too before he got married.
More details at the link.
I hope that helps!

Thanks Grant!
I appreciate your response! I was able to find more info and put my friend in touch with him via his Instagram account. He is still in the bike shipping business and his customers are quite happy with his services. Thanks again!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
