Hello everyone!

After reading HU on and off since around 2006, I finally became a member a few weeks ago. Not that I haven't done any traveling meantime, I just used HU for a long time as a place I where I could dream of traveling again as life did not permit me at that time. Once I freed myself from life's shackles, I started traveling extensively around 2010 (albeit not always on two wheels). I have seen most of Europe by now, preferably less touristy places such as Belarus and Ukraine. Work often took me to the US, and family often brought me to Canada. After all the global travel restrictions we had to deal with the few years, it's time again to reach for the throttle. I sold my place late last year, banked the profit, moved into a tiny studio, bought an extra motorcycle and quit my job last week. I am turning 50 next month and want to make the most of it still. I ride both an R1150RT and an R1150GS. My plan is to travel around North America for a few months, starting in Halifax NS, cross over to Vancouver, Oregon, Montana, down to Tx, to DC and then back to Ontario where I will store my GS for a few months with family until I return in spring 2024 to (hopefully) ride the Dempster, before shipping the bike back home to Holland. The crating and boat is taken care of, as well as all the paper work for the trip. Departure from Halifax is July 9th or 10th (unless the boat sinks).
