Hello to all HU from Turkey
Hello from Istanbul, Turkey. I have been mostly riding Vespa scooters. Always wanted to ride a proper bike with a clutch and gearbox.
After a divorce and having grown-up kids, I finally decided I can have little bit more adventure in my life and mixed up with mid-life crisis I purchased a Honda CRF250L in 2019. It was love at first sight, light and reliable. Perfect beginner adv bike.
But my heart was on vintage dual sport and adv bikes of the 80's and 90's. Now I have a Honda NX650 Dominator and a Yamaha XT600 stripped down to the frame in my living room. CRF250L is my daily ride and I keep upgrading her for longer trips.
Due to covid lockdown I could only travel in Turkey till now, and CRF250L is doing great. I have plans to travel to near Asia with my CRF250L this spring and summer. NX650 will be my ride for longer journeys if I can find time and money to make her ready for such an adventure. XT600 will be a racer for local rally raids (navigation raids only), again if I have time and money.
Yep, that's me so far. Safe adventures to everyone.

Welcome to the HUBB.
Consider also heading westwards to Bulgaria.
Motocamp Bulgaria
MotoCamp Bulgaria | motosapiens.org
in Idilevo, just west of Veliko Tarnovo is only a day's ride from Istanbul.
Many bike traveller pass through there between Easter and October and they also host a travellers' meeting where you'll meet many interesting people from around the world, every summer too.

Thank you for the info Chris,
Sure I will visit Bulgaria soon and the moto camp at Idilevo looks really friendly. Although I would like to explore east rather than the west (relative to Turkey).
Just let me know if you cross the border from Bulgaria to Turkey...

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
