Hi and thank you :)
Just wanted to chime in and say that I love these forums. So much good information. Sad to see that it's not that active - maybe because of covid?
For me covid has been an absolute blessing. I'm now allowed to work remotely, so I took the opportunity, and have been traveling around Europe on my bike (first year or riding). I work on the weekdays and travel on the weekends.
I've gotten the itch to do full time overlanding. And I'm planning a 3 month trip cross Africa once covid dies down. (maybe fall 2021) So I will be posting about that at some point...
Best Regards
-Sami

Hi Sami
Welcome along. Most of the time if you ask a question you will get an answer pretty quickly. It is true that it can be a little quiet here at times but there is so much information in the forum already and the people that have useful information are happy to share on the whole - so if you want to find out about things have a look first and if it is something that could have changed over time then ask if it has.
There is something about Africa that really pulls at me too - though I won’t be going anytime soon. I suspect tat autumn 2021 may be a little early as I suspect that borders will be closed for at least a year - probably two years before they are all back to normal - a significant number of people in Europe won’t have been vaccinated by this autumn and I suspect that Europe / USA will get vaccinated earlier than many parts of Africa.

Welcome to HU Sami!
Jay is bang on - there is so much information already here, most people do a search, find their answers and they're done. The TRAFFIC - number of people - is down because of COVID for sure, no one is going anywhere NOW - but loads of people are researching and planning. Do check out the drop-down menus at the top of every page - a great guide to the world of information here, and not just in the forums.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
