Hi from Istanbul
Finally joined the board as I'm planning a route around the Black Sea and I doubt there's a better resource anywhere for advice and info.
I'm a Brit expat, living in Istanbul, and after a few years of pottering about in Turkey I've decided...with a couple of Brit bike riding friends, to see a bit of the world around here.

Hi Ozhan,
A quick look through the site showed me there are quite a few Turkish members. It doesn't surprise me though, as over the last 5 years or so the number of Turkish bike owners has grown very quickly, and as many of them have a bike mostly for fun, there's been quite a few who have taken up touring. I was a bit quiet last year, only taking a couple of trips within Turkey, but in previous years I went to the Emok camp, the Enduro Club camp and to the one near Datca....hopefully I'll be going to that one again this year.
A mini HUBB meeting would be a good idea, we could compare notes on trips.

Hi Pete & Caf,
I'll be leaving mid-July and will get back to Istanbul in early August (this trip's a quickie). Feel free to ask anything about Turkey, I'll be happy to pass on anything I know.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
