Hi from STORM Eindhoven
Hi there,
I am a member of STORM Eindhoven, a student team that wants to promote electric driving around the world. Currently we are building our electric touring motorcycle. With our e-motorcycle we want to travel the world in 80 days, starting in June 2016. We want to do that by charging at (electric/sustainable) organizations, people, motorcycle communities or Universities along our route and overnight. At these locations we want to promote electric driving by demonstrating our e-motorcycle and telling our story.
Many experienced travelers have pointed us to the HUBB and we are quite familiar with it by reading other's questions. Our goal on this blog is to look for people that can help us with making this journey possible.
If you have any suggestions for places to go along our route, we hope to hear from you! Keep in mind that we want to promote electric driving and have a tight deadline of 80 days. Examples of events are organisations with affiliation with e-mobility, innovation or sustainability, motorcycle gatherings or electric driving oriented fairs.
Furthermore, we are looking for people who are willing to greet us along the route and where we can charge our e-motorcycle overnight. This will be people who want to support our project and who are located along our route. If you are interested, you can PM me!
However, I think most of you can really help us with information about traveling in the countries around the world. We will post specific questions about border crossings, visa, road conditions, safety etc. on the specific threads. But if you have any important information about traveling through certain countries, we also like to hear from you!
Our route will look like this: France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrzygstan, Kazakhstan, China (from Urumqi to Shanghai), United States (from Seattle, Los Angeles, Austin to New York), Spain and back to France.
With our presence we hope to inspire people about electric driving and adventurous traveling. Any help with making this possible is welcome!
