Hi from the French Alps !
Hi there!
I've been lurking on the HUBB for long enough, reading a lot and finding a lot of good ideas and answers on this website, now is the time to register and take part in it!
So, nothing really original, I'm from the country side, I'm 28 and been riding bikes since I'm 14 on the street, then a little bit of hillclimb races and road rallyes on a ktm 690 SMC-R... And of course a lot of alpines passes and curves.
Then in a work related travel I had the chance to go to Mongolia, delayed the flight back and hired a little Shinery 150cc to tour around the steppe with my tent... You can imagine that, for a first solo overland travel, having never rode a bike in the dirt, it was quite intense ! 1000kms laters, and after recovering from the experience, I think I fell in love with overland motorcycle travel !
After that, I've been practicing enduro on a 250 wrf, I've been riding in the Philipines for a few months, from Delhi to Kathmandu and back on an enfield, and around the moroccan Sahara this winter.
Since then I sold my race bike for a trail bike, building a 701 enduro to travel round the world with. So here I am, saving money and planning, for the two coming years before I can afford the time and money to go east, thru Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia again, Vladivostok... And so on!
Hopefully I'll be present for the week-end at the HUMM switzerland this august, If the job leave me alone then ! Can't wait to meet some of you there!
Oh, and for presentation, here is my bike and my face, on a steep dune in southern Morocco ! ;-)
