Hi fellow Hubbers,
I have been registered here for a while but haven't been active for the last couple of years or so.
I'd like to take this chance and introduce myself. Bit rude to ask questions otherwise
My name is Manuela, I'm 30 years old and from Vienna, Austria. I am married to my wonderful Kiwi husband Rob, who is 31. We have a wee boy named Scott who is now 10 months old.
Rob has been riding all his life and is a qualified motorbike engineer. I have only started riding when I met him and am very very inexperienced
Rob's passion are oldtimer motorcycles, and when we say old, we mean old. He has owned a few over the last few years, and at the moment we have a 1927 BSA and a 1931 Scott sitting in the garage. I used to have a BMW F650 GS but sold it when I got pregnant.
We moved from NZ to Austria a couple of years ago, and the orginal plan was to ship our bikes (we both had BMW F650GS's) to South Africa and ride up from there, but that trip was a bit "too big too soon" for us, especially financially.
So the new plan is to ride from Austria to Mongolia when our little man is old enough to come with us. We don't really lug a little baby round the globe.
Apart from the two oldtimers we don't own bikes yet, but we are thinking a ural with sidecar for the men and a DR for me.... We like the idea of having bikes that Rob can fix himself on the side of the road
I enjoy clicking and scrolling through the HUBB and have spent way too many hours doing this - at least before Scott arrived
See you!
