Advice and fellow travellers wanted for motorcycle tour

Through the G314 Hwy from
Kashgar- Ali Abad - Skardu - Khaplu - diskit - Leh - Pangong Tso
3 Countries(China,Pakistan,India) in total
Time: summer 2013...
Via:motorcycle

I first came up with the idea when I saw the splendid trip along G314(Karakoram Highway). No doubt it will be perfect if experienced on your own motorcycle. To complete the hwy trip, I need to go to Pakistan and then surprisingly I'm no long so far from Pangong Tso which has always been a place I dream to go.
The biggest challenge I think, is to get across both the Pakistan and the India occupied Kashmir. I would appreciate any information on the following questions or anything related to the trip.

1. Is it possible to get to India from Pakistan riding through the border of Kashmir? Are there any open border crossings? I suppose there will be some inspection stations around the border. But they do allow tourists to get through it don't they?

2. The road condition shall be no problem during July to August and motorcycle will be allowed to travel on the road, right?

3. And I don't suppose anyone could guarantee my safety since the security situation there is always Ina turbulence. So the best way to check whether the security is good enough to set off is to check local news?

Thanks for any help!
And I would appreciate it if anyone would like to join me or allow me to join you

I'm no expert, and don't mean to torpedo that plan... but I believe, that foreigners with vehicles, can only cross between Pakistan and India at Wagah/Attari (between Lahore and Amritsar).

Thanks for answering my inquiry

seriously? then that is a big problem..

maybe I must change the route and drive south to the available border passing. but seems few people go travelling in middle Pakistan and I don't know how's the security situation there. Probably need to change the whole plan

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
