ATM,Credit cards,commissions?
hi,
so far as i know, it is possible to get money bv ATM`s in all the countries, i want travel trough (Pakistan,India,Nepal), so i only need cash in Iran.
But, are there commissions to pay, when i use my bankomat card?
I guess to take money with Visa is costly.

Two possible charges when taking money by ATM ..
One from your own bank .. you can ask them now ..before you leave.
Secondly by the ATM bank .. that will depend on the bank there .. and can change from bank to bank. You can ask that there .. and that is probably the most acurate way. Or email them and see if they answer ..
Your card ... umm Cirius is one network .. and there is another who's name I don't remember .. but it is best to have both types of card so you can get money if you really need it now.. rather than searching of the right type of ATM/bank .. Probably the charges are differeent for each type ... just to confuse things further.

Hi,
If you're in the UK, can recommend Nationwide. They give rates better than those showing on Bloomberg/Yahoo Finance and don't charge any fees. No spread, not withdrawal fee and no commission. Not sure how they make their money. This has so far been the case everywhere from the UK to India. Will be carrying on to Oz and don't see why anything should change. Also good internet banking, so handy for travel... Their credit card also seems to give good exchange rates without any charges. Assume that they would charge fees for using the credit card at ATMs... ...but that's what the debit card is for.

ATM card Ripoffs.......
I dont know about other Countries....... but here in Spain, CAM bank are the cheapest ATM charges 0.5 Euro...but BEWARE! some unscrupulous banks charge up to 12 EURO'S!!!!! just to draw money out on a DEBIT account card, OK, they DO TELL YOU ON-SCREEN AND ASK IF YOU WANT TO PROCEED.......
Also watch out for ANY SUSPICIOUS LOOKING "ADD-ONS" on an ATM. Thieves fit very convincing card readers to the front of cash machines, DONT BE FRIGHTENED TO TUG AT ANYTHING THAT LOOKS LOOSE OR DODGY!! if it is USE ANOTHER MACHINE it is safer and mostly less hassle. preferably USE THE MACHINES INSIDE THE BANKS the ones where the staff can see you. that way they can also see if anyone is messing with a machine too
A friend has just had his bank account wiped out by thieves in BANKOK when he was in IRELAND. the ATM recorded his card details, pin number etc, the next day in Bankok his details were being used. Luckily, as he sat in the Bank talking to his Bank Manager, explaining that he had not drawn all this money from his account, the computers were showing card activity in Bankok. so the card was stopped and he was fully reimbursed all monies.
