I have been looking at some of the older posts as well as some of the other useful information on this site, but I would like to ask for some advice on my plan to export a bike from India to UK.



I am planning to be India for two weeks, flying into New Delhi around Feb or March… there I want to buy a Royal Enfield (VINTAGE) and ride around for 10 days in total… maybe I will do a mini tour (5 days) to see a bit of the Himalayas and then ride back down through Jahipur to Ahmedabad (5 days).

From there I want to ship the bike back to UK (I have already found a shipping company that will do it)…and then from Ahmedabad I want to take a train to Mumbai (which I guess should take me not more than 2 days) and from there fly back to UK.

So does anyone know from experience if this plan is possible, considering also the routes and times it will take to get the correct documentation?

More specifically does anyone know where to buy a vintage royal enfield in New Delhi (that will be in good condition for such a trip), also what documents are needed and how do I go about getting them; also what are the best routes for this time of the year (I am guessing closer to Himalayas will be very cold?)
