Iranian Visa

Folks,

I didn't want to hi-jack the other thread about Iranian visa's but i thought i'd let those waiting for this visa know of my success.

I hadn't realised that Iran had the unusual New Year so my application was delayed while that period lasted, so i was nervous since i had planned to leave the UK on 1st May. I used Magic Carpet following a recommendation, and the application left their office on April 10th which would have been a weekend day i think in Iran.

The good news is i received an email this morning with my authorization number and i now have one month in which to pick up my visa in Istanbul. I had chosen the Istanbul pick up as i thought it would take much longer to get, if i got it at all, but i could have got it in London with time to spare as it turns out.

Hopefully this will give some cheer to anyone waiting.

Congratulations

Put mine in on 5th, but on 15th (when I was hoping for an answer) just got a request for a letter from my employer. Still waiting in Delhi, while I had previously intended to have been across the Pakistan border by the 10th . It wouldn't be so bad but it's 40 degrees here....................

Given all the hassle in getting an Iran visa (not to mention killer carnets) I am pretty pleased I passed it to the North via the Caspian sea and Turkmenistan, great place.

We applied for ours just before leaving the U.K. Took about two weeks for code from Key2persia.com and we collected from Ankara, Turkey. Took 1/2 day in Ankara. Very easy.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
