Having posted stuff to Athens .. I'd not do it to any large city. Pick a smaller town where there will be only one post office, not several where the 'main' post office will be here ... but the one for Post Restante is the other side of the city. Took ages to track the parcel down.

On a Chinese motorcycle site I belong to, one of the members named Nima Naderi gave me this answer for you when I pm'd him with this thread:
Im not a member but he better do it with DHL or TNT or ARAMEX that i know .
may be i could help him with the whole process if he asked in MCM .
'MCM' is the group MyChinaMoto.com - Chinese Community, Forum and News and his name is Nima Naderi and he lives in Tehran. If you joined, you could pm him directly there.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
