Shipping from India to South Africa
Hi
Im becoming increasingly attached to my Royal Enfield that has carried me about India for the past few months and am now looking into the possibility of shipping the beast back home to Cape Town.
Any one with experience of this or able to suggest a shipping company in India?
Jim

No experience of shipping to SA but we had our bikes shipped to the UK.
If you contact Marie in Bombay on +912222657200 or 09820062743 (mob) she may be able to help you. The office is near the old Stock Exchange.
You need to speak to Marie though - she is the owner of the travel company and has all the contacts. Mention John and Mick and she will know the sort of thing you want.
Cheers,
John

Hey Jim, how did you go with this information, did you manage to get it sorted? My wife and I are looking at going from SA up to Ethiopia in a few months time, I noticed on another post by you that you never made it to Egypt and thus were looking at shipping a bike from Ethiopia or Kenya back to SA, how did you go with that as I have not had much luck with any of this just yet and we would be looking to do the same thing.
Any help or advice you can offer would be much appreciated.
Be well and ride safe.

Hi,
The shipping was roughly 450 euros so far. The destination charges are already paid, and i've cleared the bike yesterday. I just have to go and pick it up tomorrow, and pay the rest (container freight service, handling charges, and so on). The total, I think, should not exceed 550 euros (1200 dollars quote for plane transportation...). But as said before, I'll find out more tomorrow. I haven't had the time to to put anything yet on the shipping page. I'll do that either tomorrow, or this month - I rarely sleep in hotels, so it's not always easy. If you give me your e-mail by MP, I could send you the draft of the costs i've written down so far.
take care
