Turkey to India via Iran & Pakistan
Hi all.
I'm from the UK and am looking at riding through Turkey and into Iran. I'd then like to ride down to the border with Pakistan and cross Pakistan into India. Does anyone know if this is feasible at the moment?
Thanks in advance.

Totally feasible, did it myself daily recently.
Depending on your citizenship/passport (i.e. British) you may need guide in Iran.
Easier to get Iranian visa through agent, do not apply direct.
I came from Turkey via Kurdistan then Iran, quieter/faster border.

There are others doing this now, search for posts here and on FB.
Note that to enter India from Pakistan you will need a paper visa - the e-visa doesn't allow land entry. Information on this is inadequate and conflicting, however after a fair amount of research this is my understanding. You will need to get the visa in your country of residence.

Second this! Do not count on getting an India visa in Islamabad.

So you guys are saying that U.K. passport holders can get entry in to Iran.
I thought this wasn’t possible so had been looking at Iraq instead.

You can enter Iran, you just need a fully escorted tour package.
Iraq has no such restriction, but doesn't help in getting to India.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
