Honda Vigor FX/SLR 650
My KTM 620 was stolen before getting to the sahara. Now, i'm thinking of going cheap. Has anyone considered a Honda Vigor FX/SLR 650?

Looks pretty good doesn't it, with the well-proven dominator engine and bargain price? It is very short and light as well. Pity they deleted it here in UK this week.

I used a SLR 650 to commute to work and it was an absolute delight in traffic, incredibly easy to ride and a solid 55 m.p.g.
The Vigor is more road biased ( tyres ) and I think it has a little bar fairing and rev counter, too.
I don't think this bike lost out due to bad design, more likely fashion, at least as far as Britain is concerned.
It's air cooled and a single cylinder, too - so very simple to work on.
Honda make the bike in Spain and admit it was made as a budget city scrambler rather than a serious off roader or tourer.
Still, if you find it comfortable to ride over distance, then it's a great bike!

My advice : Stay with a Dominator or even a XLLM .... SLR and Vigor have a 19" front wheel (bad for offroad) less power, downrated suspensions and practically the same weight ! in Italy the Vigor is cheaper than a Dominator, but the difference is less than 500-600 euro and do the Domi is MUCH better value for money ...

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
