This bike came more than a year ago in Europe so not exactly new.

But it is powerful, lightweight and has a very long range. All which are great features for a travel bike. The seat I think isnt anything for an old fart like me and it could do with some wind protection. And can it be fixed in Bolivia and Guatemala if it breaks down?

Anyhow - thumbs up for this Husqvarna LR...

It came to the dealers this spring but the model was presented last year and where I live one could put in an order last fall for this bike.

One small step further towards an adventure bike. The extra cost for the extra front tanks is quite reasonable and saves the pain of doing this after purchase (and the awkward discussions with insurance companies).

I'm disappointed with the backwards move on instrumentation where the previous fairly comprehensive panel is replaced with a minimalist design.

And again, it could do with a proper wide-ratio gearbox.

agreed, that change of dash to dirtbike like was a bad move year ago.
Although I use it on dirtbike and it's very functional, wish it was bigger though.

What are people's views one the traction control, ride modes etc?

It's got the weight, it's got the range, but it still has an enduro seat, and is riddled with tech.

Seems to me that they are still aiming this at the ADV market but not the RTW market: I've seen those as two distinct markets for a while now, the latter having no real bikes made for it, except the 700 Ten, perhaps and the CRF250, and the former has loads of offerings that would need tweeking to meet RTW requirements.

there will never be bikes for RTW specific market as it's small subset of ADV market.
Also neither new yamaha T7 or CRF 250l is fully even an adv bike in stock form.


p.s.
seat is the smallest problem, you have many aftermarket options.

I ride now xt660z and don't have any electronics even abs and no problems at all, for street riding only I'd take abs and some basic TC but what they do now is ridiculous - new Africa Twin has like 7 levels of TC, riding modes, angine braking tuning etc etc. Who's gonna use that s@#$t ?
