all about XT CDI ignitions...
the stator CDI energy coil in my dr350 gave up the ghost, so went for an ignitech.cz unit that doesnt need it. it uses the bike's 12V system to charge the CDI. way cheaper than replacing the stator and no more chance for this common failure
anyway, while searching for info on how CDIs work (all my bikes been till now TCI, including my XTs) came across this site:
