If you turn them with your fingers and they feel smooth, you dont need to change them. Its easy to change yourself, knock them out with a screwdriver from the backside. When you replace the new one, use the old one on top of the new and knock them in. If you have a press its even more easy, if seals are good you dont need new.

About rubber, try to push the bike while is in gear and look for the free play between sprocket carrier and hub. I am not sure, but if there is a free play bigger than 5 mm I will pack some inner tube inside the hub or replace them if more. But, again, I am not sure.

When you put it back in to the hub, it supposed to be thight. No freeplay in the chain direction back/forward.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
