Separately, the more I recall it, the more I think the whole of the speedo system, for the kicker TTR600 anyway, is a pile of junk.
IIRC, the innards of the speedo head also consist of gears made of nylon.

Not sure I believe it... The bike looks in good nick though.
A lot of people sit on bikes and only ride them twice a year though.
Or just a couple of trail rides a year.
We'll see when it gets here..

The TTR600 is fully road legal in UK/Europe.
Then along came the RE model to make it a bit more civilised.

Yup... 250 miles away and cheap enough to take a gamble on.
Waiting for my courier to find a window so should have it end of next week..

Often.. Mostly through nostalgia and it's refusal to ever let me down.
I don't miss it's terrible suspension and lack of power though.

Hahah, yeah they ain't perfect that's for sure!
But I can't phantom ever letting mine go.. although I haven't ridden her in almost 3 years..
And she's sitting inside the garage mostly disassembled...plastics off, fuel tank off, chain off in a plastic container filled with oil..
Just the engine sitting on the frame with full suspensions, wheels, downpipes and air filter ports plugged so it won't rust inside...
I need to get it up to tiptop shape but probably only by winter if I do get my work visa papers and go off to work in the US..
If not, I'll fix her up this summer for sure!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
