I reckon you're talking about chalk and cheese... and perhaps in danger of falling into the 'MCN trap' of relying on figures rather than what the bike is actually like to ride?
I would tend to agree with Indu - the attraction for me with the new Tenere is that it is not overly complicated or high-tech - simple mechanicals (really, EFi is nothing to be scared of), more than adequate suspension, well thought-out ergonomics and neat features, and fundamentally, affordable...
Everyone who has ridden one says you don't actually feel the weight, and that there is more than enough power for the sort of riding it was designed for - it's also economic, quiet and refined (for a single)... sounds like the perfect traveling companion to me?
