Microfiche to CDrom
Last year FredXTZ asked how to make paper copies of a microfiche. This is of course possible with the correct reader, but I have since discovered that many microfilm companies can scan the images and put them unto cdrom, a much better idea.
After scanning the image is inverted so that it appears as a black outline on a white background. It is then burnt unto cd in whatever format you require ie. Tiff, JPeg, pdf etc.
I searched the net and used a company called Marathon Microfilming and the price was 15 pence per image plus 15 pounds for the cd and of course VAT. I am sure there are local companies everywhere that can provide this service.
Now that I have a disc if anyone would like a copy I will send them one if they get in touch. The contents are the Yamaha parts catalogue for a 1992 XTZ 660 (3YF) in pdf format.
(judging by the few 660 posts I hope that's not too many!!)
