A small step for man, but a giant leap for all of us who loves mechanical enigmas!
I disassembled the carbs for the 3TB and the settings were:
Main Jet: 135 / Sec Jet: 110
Prim Needle: 5D94 / Sec Needle: 5Y14
(both in middle position though)
Idle Jet: 18
I then took the carbs from my other 1VJ (you can never have too many Ténérés) and the engine was completely re-born!
It ran on just 0.41litres/10km on the 3TB settings and that was a little bit too lean for my taste.
My girlfriend now has a Ténéré that, with a bit of TLC, will keep her crossing deserts and mountains for a long time to come.
