No Electrics, but fuses are ok and battery is charged
Now then, i found two fuses but they are not blown, so i took my battery off and charged it still no life...
as a matter of interest,... after i washed it and thought it was all dry i turned the key...green light came on and when i pressed the starter i heard a wierd noise like something shorting or battling to ignite "for a better word"
, so immediately cut the power, after a long while in the sun i tried it again, and again the noise so i left it the whole day, and when i tried again later, there was no noise after the green light but now its completely dead...any ideas anyone?

sounds like earth
Check the earth. Before you start pulling stuff to bits or buying stuff check where the main earth wire from the battery to the frame is bolted on. Alloy bolts and frames are notorious for forming corrosion around the earth bolt, making the connection fail. Take it off, clean it and the frame well and try again. Also worth cleaning the earth link to the fuse box and the earth link at the battery terminal. Sounds like the water is providing the earth link when splashed on the bike. May not be the problem, but only takes 5 mins to check.

she works...my babe is alive
IT WORKS!!! My babe is alive....It was the bloody fuses after all....you know what, she uses the same fuses as a car, 2 yellow 20 amp fuses, and let me tell you, even when they look like they are OK, the old ones that is...don't believe your eyes, spend 1.19 at Halfords on the way home in desperation...put them in and watch the little green light come on. I am so happy I could shit.
Thanks to all that gave me advice and my Angel in Spain for the Pdf.
Long live the thumper, born to rip and shred.

I've emailed it to you Eduardo.
It's a 72 page pdf parts catalogue for a XT600E (4PTB Europe/4SL7 Switzerland) with parts exploded drawings and all the part numbers, circa 2001.
If anybody else wants this pdf PM your email address and I'll send it.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
