Tenere Tyres
What is the latest advice on tyres for a 1986 1VJ Tenere ?
I have the 18" rear obviously.
I rather fancy the TKC80 Twinduro which conmes in the right frontal size (3.00 S 18) but I'm not sure about the size on the back. The recommendation is for a 4.60 S 18 but Continental don't list that. Is the 4.00 S 18 okay ?
Otherwise what other makes are recommended. Most of my miles are road based as I commute but it has to be capable of wet grass and mud for my rallying.
Cheers,
Richard

Tenere tyers
What kind of riding/roads will be wanting the tyres for?
I run Vee Rubber on my '86 Tenere. They are a cheap and cheerful knobby from the far east. They wear well, are fine on the tar and grip well on dirt roads and tracks.
Regards,
Dave

Hmmmm. I've used Vee Rubber (road tyres) on an MZ of mine and it was fine. I can't seem to find a UK supplier in the necessary sizes though.
I live in Mid Wales so it will be mainly tarmac with occasional muddy fun.
Wet grip matters here. It rains a lot.

Hi on my XT600 3AJ I have TKC80s Front90/90S21 Rear 120/90R18
Fitted for £135 in London
The tyres are fine on tarmac and handy if you go off road.

Ordered the TKC80's last night. An M&P sale knocked the price (delivered incl VAT) to about £85 for the pair. My local tyre fitter will fit both for £5-£10 depending on how he feels usually.
I did think deply about the cheaper Distanzia but they are just too road oriented. Same with the Sirac.

M&P price
You did well. On M and P now they are:
120/90R18 49.99
90/90S21 45.99
plus £5 p&p
Does anyone know of a better price ?
Are these the best size for '91 3AJ ?
Thanks,
John
