tt 600 re sprockets

I know I've asked but Im wanting to increase acceleration..I have gone down to a 14 t front but want to try and gain some more.

Im struggling to find a smaller front sprocket but am able to get 45/42/41 T rear sprockets...

ANY opinions ??

Yes, buy a Yamaha R1! If you like offroader how about a turbokit?

I've had other people ask about stuff like this, To go so low for acceleration(usually to brag about popping wheelies in 2nd or 3rd gear) but then have it screaming at high rpms down the road. For offroad and not needing topend speed not so bad. Go with the 45 rear sprocket and the 14 front, if that's all you can get it's as low a gearing you'll get. I thought a 13 could be gotten along with 47 and 48t rears but maybe that's just over here.

Next up : big bore and high comp plus carb increase.

I should have said more..I had a balls out ccm r30 with a 710 big bore kit which I sold last year.Tbh it was too much.

I have a ZRX 1200 Kawasaki which was my 40th birthday present to myself.Im now 52.

I don't want to go fast or pop wheelies but I do want to be able to pull away from traffic lights etc ..

It only feels so slow because you have others that pull away, it will never be the feeling you want swapping the sprockets. I think maybe a KTM would be better bike for you, never had any problem pulling away with my xt with stock 15/45. It is what it is...and i quess you like to have some top speed aswell.

as said I GOT RID OF A SUPERMOTO THAT HAD TO BE RIDDEN BALLS OUT EVERYWHERE..A 1200 FOR SPEED ETC. tHE TTR IS FUN IN A DIFFERENT KINDA WAY BUT DEFO NOT FOR ANY KIND OF SPEED

Ok it must be something seriously wrong with your tt if you cant pull away from traffic lights, good luck with the sprockets....

A different rear tire that's a little smaller diameter and lighter does help on takeoff. An FCR carb would help in throttle response. There are a few things to get more of a hit from takeoff, just the more a person wants the more it costs.

Try to double check some other Yamaha models , there may be sprockets that will fit just not spec'ed for the tt. I've run into a few things from other models that fit.

Well he dont want the bike to go to fast.. not to slow.. and suggestion about KTM is all wrong, LC4 have 60hp same maintence and are pretty much the same as the TT. Maybe magic is done with sprockets i dont know..

I'm assuming it's an assumption that a 600 dirt bike will have equal performance as a 600 sport bike. Don't know.

For the xt600e you can source 13, 14, 15 and 16front, and just about anything from 40 to 50 in the back.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried to follow the link you posted and although it said it was translated it remained in german.

is the xt 600e sprocket set the same sizes as the tt600 re?..I have no idea and would even know if the chain will need shortening or making longer

There should be a flag on the upper right corner of the website, so you can choose between german and english.

I dont know if they're the same, but I would guess the front should be the same. My friend has a kick only tt600s belgarda, and we can change sprockets between us.

Or just look at the number on your current sprockets, and change the number that matches the toothcount with a smaller/bigger, and use google.

I would think they're the same in the front also . They had 2 different splines, the older course and a newer style that has about twice as many grooves/lands.

The 660 will be different though , at least ours is in the US.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love.
