I had been with Carole Nash for ages in the UK, then in my last year before moving I went with "Aquote". They were even cheaper
Although I checked out eBike, they never proved competitive for me....

I have checked the policy. Use on footpaths and bridleways is not covered, which I would expect, as this isn't exactly legal anyway. Cover on Byways is limited to legal minimum. I take this to mean that if I ride on a green lane I am legally covered, but if I bin it I stand the cost of repairs. I think that's what I would have expected. After all, there is a much higher risk of damage on a green lane compared to the road, especially if I am the rider I guess this is what you get with a 'standard policy'.
Good to check, though. Thanks.

Yes, I noticed the 'free classic insurance' thing, but the XT isn't old enough to qualify - it's any insurance policy plus free classic policy for another bike over 20 years old. And it must be kept in a locked garage, which isn't possible for me. Well, not until I find another home for the mower, old computers, fridge and freezer, packing boxes, toolboxes, battery chargers, old magazines, old business documents, garden tools, garden furniture, kids' toys and a set of bunk beds. Not any time soon, then.
But it's a great deal if you qualify.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
