XT 600 chain slide (roller): any better options?
Hey guys,
after a suspension raise (25mm added to the shock length) my chain slide roller worn out very quickly. It was used, etc., so I thought a new one will solve the problem, probably.
So now I have changed all the chain slides. But this new one is still (quite often) coming off it's inner metal ring. The roller-slide is too narrow for it's place (between the frame and a metal guide on the swingarm), I think, so it has too much space and it often gets "sideways" compared to the position of the chain.
What I'm thinking about is - are there any other, better, options for this chain slide? Because the new one I've installed will get worn out pretty quickly too (especially if it gets sideways and gets stuck).
Maybe ~5mm wider bronze slide (custom made) would do a better job? With a special "U" shaped "track" for the chain?
Any ideas? Anyone with the same problem after the suspension raise?
This is the roller I'm talking about :
