xt600 magneto wiring

hi there im new to the forum so i hope someone may be able to help i have a kickstart xt600 motor not sure which year? maybe 86-88? which i would like help in identifying the wiring from the magneto/stator if any one can break down where each wire goes, or what its for? im familar with the 3 wires going into the regulator but the rest im not to sure..

the wires are

solid brown
solid red

2x solid white in a 2 pin plug

and then the 3 pin plug that goes to the voltage regulator

ideally the i need to know where the 2 solid white wires go and there function and does it matter which way they go around? and what the function of the brown and red wires are? im aware they go to the cdi but would like to know what there for?

the bike is for offroad use only and only has a headlight and tailight so wiring is going to be absolutely minimal and battery free ( if possible?)

thanks,

To disable the side stand switch, follow the wiring up towards the main wiring harness. You will find the bullet connectors. Unplug the side stand wiring and plug the two wires going to the main harness together. This fakes the CDI into thinking the side stand is up all the time. The side stand switch can go intermittent and even if the side stand is up, it may give an indication that it is down and kill the engine or make it run weird.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
