xt600e carburetor o ring identification

Hi all!

I have an xt600e 2002 model and I have decided to clean the carb as it was getting rusty and could not be tuned at all.

I cleaned everything and replaced the valve seat, needle, and gaskets from a kit but it seems I am missing an o ring.

When removing top cover of the secondary carburetor , where the piston valve is under the diaphragm there is a groove
it looks like there should be an o ring in there.

I looked into the carb replacement parts (figure 1 from here) but I cannot find any part number.

I am not sure what is the reason to have an o ring there but there is a groove and I can see in this video that while dissasembling the carb we can see the o ring in place (figure 2).

Shall I add any o ring that fits or should I consider something special? Any suggestion would be helpfull.

By the way screw number 45 from the exploded diagram is stuck so badly that when I try to turn it by force, the metal plate starts to bend. Any idea how to remove this without destrying the threads?

Thanks!

judging by my very same carbs as well as by manual, there shouldn't be any o ring.
the diaphragm itself (if it's in a good condition) has the shape on the edge which fits in that circular groove.
and there's small tab as well on the edge of diaphragm, which also fits in the appropriate spot in the body. this must help to place the piston in the correct position. anyways, suggesting checking manual.

as for the stuck screws, 50/50 mixture of atf and white spirit used to work for me. there're dedicated penetrators as well.
using the heat also looks possible on that part.

Thanks for the ATF/acetone tip!
I cant think of why having a gasket of any type there helps but I am pretty sure these was something there while disassembly and I can see it in other videos as well. Also the top cover had some gasket glue material, do you think I need to add any sealant when attaching the top cover (over the diaphragm) ?

there is no other part there in the groove, (as you can see from the parts diagram), and no sealant should be added

download the workshop manual and follow it to a T.

and dont watch too many videos, plenty of idiots out there making them for the money and not having a clue (or wrongly thinking they do have a clue). OK, not all of them, but very high risk to follow the wrong guy.
