XT600e luggage
Very simple question. I've ordered Hepco & Becker pannier rails for my XT600e. (Yes I've read all the opinions on hard v's soft luggage). Do I need the same size pannier each side. I want to get them ordered before the racks arrive as everything seems to take a week or two to happen. Would appreciate reply from anyone who has H & B racks to confirm what I think
Many thanks

Are you thinking about using different bags? If am not all wrong i think they only have a certain size in each set. But the different sets fits the same rack, think its more a question about getting about same weight on each side. Dont know if i understand your question correct. I would ask H&B for technical questions, they are pretty fast giving answears.

Sorry to be confusing. On some bikes the single sided exhaust means that to make the bike even you put a smaller (thinner) pannier on the exhaust side compared to the other side e.g. 30 litre on exhaust side and 40 litre on the other. If the pannier rails are equidistant from the centre of the bike when fitted (as I think the XT would be) then you fit the same size pannier on each side.
Not sure if I've expained that very well.

The answer??
Thanks again. How do you remember all these links??!!
Anyway, after the supplier saying the racks were not in stock and might take two weeks for them to get in they arrived today - less than a week after ordering . I've just fitted them and the exhaust side is definitely much further out than the other side. So I think the best bet is asymetrical panniers - thinner on the exhaust side

Also just found this link. Don't know if I pasted it properly though.
