It was absolutely quiet except for the wind, which blew in gusts and swirls. In all directions, all 360 degrees, vistas of the vast boreal tundra. Now that we had reached the Arctic Circle what adventure lay before us?

Stories and places or interest from our trip around the world. What we like and dislike, places we have stayed both good and bad and what we thought as we have traveled over 40,000 km. One thing we know for sure is that through out the world people like to be happy and we feel privileged to meet so many of them in so many different places.

Betty (Rosann) is riding a motorbike …around the world (with Dan)…a little bit at at time…mostly in 3 month bites. (one of us has to work) The story is loosely about Betty…travelling through countries and little towns…bypassing big cities and big highways (as much as possible).
Encouraged by friends, work mates, complete strangers and family…we write a little bit of story each day…take a few photos…the odd movie…a few maps and other stuff (bad jokes and inappropriate language) added on as well.
Mostly, the story is easy to understand…except for the little bits of Tasmanian peculiar language and spelling……….just ignore these bits.

During one trip to Nova Scotia on motorbike, Autumn and Adam stopped and asked each other how to keep this trip going. The solution was simple, Lose the debt, lose the goods, and set the priorities. Three years later, they are well on the way. Keep track of their findings and adventures on No Map Nomads, Half logistical, Half Philosophical.

Being both motorcycle riders with a love for travelling, we talked about touring the world on bikes about two years ago. After looking into logistics/constraints and places we wanted to explore, we decided to tour the Americas from Alaska, USA to Ushuaia, Argentina. We also wanted to have the same motorcycle to simplify maintenance, and find something we would both feel comfortable riding. We ended up chosing the Suzuki V-Strom 650, a 07' grey one for Chad and a 05' red one for Caroline. We left for our journey on 6/14/09 from Washington, DC.
