Shipments done by Travellers

The HU Shipping Database!

From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.

For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:

Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.

Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.

Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

"it's too easy" :-) Everything is good organizes and easy to handle. Contact Christian Matzen by mail and he will answer to you and give you all information's you need. If you need a crate, let him know and he can organize one for you (plus 55 AUS$). To stamp the carnet you have to go to the Customs House in the airport area (-33.93368, 151.16373). In my case they didn't look to the bike, just stamped the carnet. For the bio-security in NZ you have to clean the bike very well. Christian will provide you a high pressure cleaner and you can clean the bike next to his warehouse (-33.96185, 151.22307). Shipping was via Auckland and then by truck to Christchurch. In my case something went wrong and the bike arrived with a delay of 2 days. The hassle was, that the Airfreight company (Air New Zealand Cargo) had 2 1/2 days no plan where my bike was. I made many calls and heard from them: "bad news, it seems to be the bike was stolen in Sydney", "it left Sydney, but didn't arrive in Auckland" to "it is in Auckland but we can not find them". Finally except the delay everything went ok and the bike arrived in Christchurch. Customs clearance in NZ is easy. I went to the shipping company (Air New Zealand Cargo, -43.49227, 172.54714) to pick up the Airwaybill and went to the Customs House (-43.49055, 172.54393). You have to fill out 2 documents (custom declaration and one for the bio security). Then you carnet will be stamped immediately and with a little luck the bio security inspection is on the same day. After that you can pick up you bike and you are freeeee....

800 AU$ for one bike
140 NZ$ for customs clearance

Shipped from kula lumour international airport (klia) to schiphol amsterdam on 22th of december 2014. Very easy process. Make an appointment (reservation) via the number mentioned below in the email. Then just ride to maskargo at the airport, fill in some paperwork, they measure the dimensions and weight of your bike, pay and leave the bike behind.

Below you find a quotation of the cost. In the end I paid for volume instead of weight (1600 dollar for shipment and around 100 dollar in the netherlands for customs and handling) because I choose not to crate the bike, so I could ride the bike straight after picking it up in amsterdam.

Worked out perfectly. Bernd is a biker himself and we went for a nice tour to see some of the hills around Kuala Lumpur. Super nice guy, always answered very quickly and was more then helpful.

Adrian is a great guy and got everything smoothly organised. The shipment took roughly 6 weeks! If you`re in a hurry, Adrian also offers Airfreight.
The bikes got disembarked in Hamburg, from there they transport per truck to every destination you want or you just safe some money and pick up the bike your self (which I didn`t felt like doing in the Feb snow after being in warm and lovely Africa)

Wendy Choi

The $90 reflects the charges to release the bike from the warehouse and is made up of a handling charge, customs charge and the quarantine inspection fee.
Thanks to Wendy, this process was extremely easy as she arranged everything, including the packing into a crate. The craters then delivered the bike to the shippers.
In NZ I dealt with the shippers, customs and the Ministry of Primary Industries (for the quarantine inspection) myself. All three locations were next to the airport and within walking distance of the airport bus from the city centre.
I also spent US$60 for NZ vehicle inspection and registration.
