Tyre Choice for Gibb River Road, Perth-Darwin-Adelaide
Im currently planning a ride at the beginning of April from Perth to Adelaide with a slight detour of going via the Gibb River Road and Darwin.
For the last 20,000+ Km's I've been wearing heidenau k60's on my 2010 1200GS and have been impressed with the balance of on and off road performance and amazed with just how well they've really held up!
I'm fairly inclined to go with another set of the heidenau's however with the Gibb River Road I'm concerned I might need something a touch more off road orientated and am looking at the Continental tkc80's as a possible option.
To anyone who's done the gibb river road before is the extra bite of the tkc's needed or will the heidenau's be fine?
I guess there's also the option of using tkc's until Darwin before fitting heidenau's for the trip south if the tkc's aren't holding up.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Ben
