Garmin maps for Central America
I didn't think that you could get any Garmin maps for Central America. However watching the You Tube clip on this trip report; https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/d...erica.1550405/
They do have some mapping on their Zumo.
I asked him if it was a Garmin map and he replied with; You’re right, Garmin does not support CA. So you don’t have turn by turn directions, however you do still have a map you can view and you are able to see where you are in the map. You just cannot put in destinations etc…
I then asked if they bought those maps and the reply was "We did not purchase anything. The GPS already had the map on it"
I will need to purchase maps for my Garmin (having New Zealand and Australia on it won't get me far!) but I wondered w here do you purchase those from?
Any ideas?
Thank you

If you use
the search box and the term 'OSM' , you will find everything you need; the maps are routing and free too.
Isn't life grand!
p.s if you get to your wits' end, p.m. me!

I use https://alternativaslibres.org/en/index.php. Costs a little for big maps but works great for me.
Only problem with maps of countries further south of the US is that they are pretty inaccurate. Even google many times has no clue what it does.

I travelled both those countries without a Garmin. Just used my cellphone and got a plan (internet is cheap there) and used google maps.
If that isn't an option for you I recommend using offline mapping like maps.me. this mapping isnt GREAT but it will help. I would use maps me along my travels, mostly for aiding me from city to city. But once downtown in city and looking for particular things (like hotels, and restaurants) its not very good
