Not title

As a rider from Canada entering Mexico
bring whatever document your particular province issues to you as your OWNERSHIP AND REGISTRATION of the bike or car, showing make , model, year and VIN, and YOUR NAME
and your DRIVERS LICENSE and your PASSPORT
These all should show YOUR NAME spelled the same way
You may pay in Cash or with a credit card , again in YOUR NAME.

If paying cash you may pay for the TVIP and the FMM with Pesos or US DOLLARS . The refundable TVIP SECURUTY DEPOSIT if paid in cash must be paid in US DOLLARS ONLY
That deposit is refunded when you cancel the TVIP before it expires

Do not get sucked into the claptrap about Title , that is a USA document , it does not apply to you.

Canmet , I should add that you have no reason to think about showing your Canadian insurance slip at the Mexican border ( unless of course it is as an inseparable portion of your registration as it is , I think, in British Columbia.)
Your Canadian liability insurance is of no use, worthless , in Mexico
.
Before travelling in Mexico you absolutely must buy a policy for Mexico liability insurance . That insurance is sold online ,at many State- side storefront insurance offices in border towns and it is sold right inside most Mexican Border Customs Terminals by the reps of the Mexican insurance companies.

To get a TVIP you need title or registration docs. I have entered Mexico many times and never showed the title, only the US registration.

And in fact, showing the title might be counter-productive if it is one (eg CA?) that shows the registration expiry date and it has passed

I just report is so easy to make TVIP in Quintana Roo but if you have come from Belize and store the car in Cancun with out TVIP you must go back to Mexican border and just tell him you will make TVIP and he allowed you to drive on another side to banjercito. There must you pay deposit for the car(depens year of your car) + tax+ entering tax all together 350 eur but in my case they will return 300 USD on my credit card when I check out on bajercito on the border.
The rest I report in august when I come to Tijuana.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
