ETA requirements for UK and Europe
I've been all over the internet and all the posts and info says it will be required for us in 2024. But no where does any post say when. I tried to be proactive and sign up for it but when it came time to register my passport it wouldn't allow me to take the photo maybe because they aren't accepting Americans yet, I dunno. Anybody got any info on this please?

They're taking applications from a limited number of countries--just 7--and they specifically say that if you're not on this list you don't need and can't get an ETA. I'd suggest you count your blessings (and maybe sign up for the email list which claims to offer news updates).

Hope that's helpful.

Appreciate the response. Unfortunately the latest update is 2 months old and there is still no date for when we would need one. I will sign up for the updates and hopefully I'll be able to leave 7/29 as expected without the eta

Right, it's frustrating. For better or worse, you've got little choice but to wait and see--an excellent lesson in the arbitrary, often-unfair nature of border politics. I'd suggest that you try to bear in mind how relatively easy it is for we US passport holders to go almost anyplace for almost any reason. That'll still be true on July 29th, with or without an ETA. Even if they change the rules on you at the last possible moment, they'll make it possible for you to blunder through. Contrast this with how they treat folks from less-favored countries, before, during and after arrival.
I'll shut up now. Maybe there's someone out there with useful information to offer.

It will only take a couple of seconds on yandex.com to find out that it will start in 2025, if it won´t be delayed even more.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
