Insurance in the UK
Can anyone tell me where I can find insurance for a motorcycle in the UK? I own a bike in the uk, have a full uk license (for 40 years) but live in New Zealand. I will be visiting the UK over the summer and want to use the bike but am struggling to find anyone who will insure a non UK resident. I was born in the UK but haven't lived there for 25 years.

I found a broker called Bikesure who managed to arrange temporary 2 month cover for me. Not cheap, but unless you're a UK resident it's almost impossible to get insurance, Bikesure were the only ones I could find who could help.

Bike Insurance
When I used to rent bikes to Americans who wanted to tour U.k., I used a company called Devitt Insurance. Worth looking up.

If you have a UK licence and the bike is registered in the UK can't you use the address the bike is registered at? It's not like they check, and all correspondence can be done by email.

I think they are honestly answering the how long have you been resident in the UK question.

Looks like my original post got hijacked with a squabble...
Just confirming that, as a non UK resident, I bought a UK registered bike and managed to get insurance through a broker in the UK called 'Bikesure'.

Andwas genuinely looking for short term insurance when he post after me,again advertizing himself/bizness when this site should be free of that !!,so I tought to shre the negative experience and flag him!!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
