KTM Adventure Rally 2012

KTM Adventure Rally 2012

Will be held in Finland 26 - 29 July 2012

Four days and 1500km on Finnish gravel roads....

During various discussions over couple of years about arranging Roadbook Rally event in Finland I started thinking about whether it might be to fix a road book / navigation event.
I knew a lot of roads and terrain in Finland with excellent gravel roads, trails, paths, etc. with nice scenery....:evil

KTM Adventure Rally is roadbook / navigation event where rides should ride the route planed, documented, launched and inspected in advance by organization and shown in Roadbook in ideal time limits and obey speed limits.
Route must be ride according the roadbook instructions via control and waypoints.
Organization will give to participant GPS-Waypoints to load in to device and Roadbook with riding instructions.
Route should be ride according Roadbook instructions on WP and CP order. Control points and waypoints with ideal passing times are shown only in Roadbook instructions.

Routes are launched on hard terrain no swamps or wet spots etc. All routes can be ride with Adventure bikes. All-round or knobby tyres are recommended.

You will find mor info on the event schedule, accomodation, booking and entry procedures/links etc. KTM Adventure Rally 2012

It's mainly in Finnish but use translator or contact me.

Dusty Wobbls Team is working hard and World first KTM Adventure Rally route is coming to be completed day by day. We are writing Finnish motorsport history when organizing first ever motorbike Rally event in Finland. Lot of work has been done and fine and challenging routes on nice terrain has been found and included on route.
I have also almost completed our other Rally Raid event Dusty Butt SS 1000 arrangements now only the ride achievement must be completed. Dusty Butt event is also historical event in Finnish motorsport. Why? Dusty Butt SS 1000 has been only ridden and approved 33 times and those rides has been driven in South Africa, Australia and USA on strait dessert roads, so we will but more challenge on it and ride it on Finnish forest gravel roads where achievement it isn’t just sitting on saddle. Finnish are as well-known motorsport nation and we invite many European nations to join us in the event. So Rally on!

Year 2013 KTM Adventure Rally arrangement are turn on and we are exploring route options. KTM Adventure Rally 2013 will be held in same time last week of July 25th – 28th 2013 so make reservation in your calendar. More info about KTM Adventure Rally 2013 will be published on Dusty Wobbls / KTM Adventure weekend on October – November.

Hi Sakke,

I'd love to participate, but unfortunately this date is not possible for me...

Could you imagine to offer the GPS data to non-participants after the rallye? I reckon this would be a nice tour to see a bit of Finland far from the touristic routes.

On fortnight this time we will have exhausted but hopefully happy Adventure Rally riders doing history on first ever Adventure Rally Raid event in Finland. We will be on midpoint of the rally after two days and 810km on Finnish back roads and paths. Riders will be still facing two more long and hard Rally days and 630km on landscape of legendary WRC Rally of Thousand Lakes before reaching finish line and hefty awards, big thanks’ to our cooperation partners. :clap

Preparing’s for the Rally is almost done. Route data has been processed, Roadbook, TC = Time Card, x 4 done and A5 Roadbooks printed. All CP’s = Control points and TC’s = Time control points are placed on route it looks quite good on that point. There is still lot of things to do like Roadbook roll printing, riders instructions, fact sheets, result program, etc. We want to build and offer grate and memorable event to our participants..

Rally is coming closer…
Almost all paper work is done. Only Roadbook rolls must be printed out but that will be on weekend schedule. Last two weeks have been busy on front of the PC but now I can see the light on other end of the tunnel! ...
