Montenegro!
Hey guys, just joined!
Heading to montenegro in September for a fortnight, flying in but will hopefully be renting a bike for a day or two.
Any general travel tips for the country, recommendations?
Thanks
Andy

Kotor, Dumitor, road south of the lake.
They are building a road from the sea to Beograd so the old road on the way from Dumitor to podgoritsabwas trashed by trucks. It's a great road but really rough and they spray to keep dust down so it's wet had to stop several times to clean visor
Also beware some of those secondary roads are narrow and overgrown and there will be a car coming and taking whole road at some point

The road from Kotor to Lovcen seems to have been recently resurfaced for a lot of the route (see photo below). Just watch out for gravel and rocks and bring a warm jacket because there's a big altitude gain. I'm in Kotor at the moment and thinking of taking in some mountains further inland before I head up to Bosnia. A Scottish biker I met in Greece a few weeks ago told me that the best road he's ever ridden is in the north of Montenegro. I can't remember exactly which road he was talking about but I think its the E762 from Niksic towards the Bosnian border. That could be a good one. Maybe someone else can confirm, if not I'll probably be there in a couple of days so I'll update here.
In the meantime, here's sunset on the road from Kotor to Lovcen:

Stop at the Budva Bikers Bar, I was made to feel very welcome when I did my trip and the guy who owned it at the time had some old bikes and cars to have a look around. He made me his guest for the night and even let me sleep in the back room of the bar to save me getting my tent out

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
