Need insurance in Europe asap!
I'm in Spain right now and bike is out of customs in my friends garage. It has US registration. Now I need to get insurance. I had no idea this will be so complicated. I've done insurance in States over phone for 30 minutes, through whole Central and South America at the border, very easy. I've got in touch with several agencies in last few days. I decided to move forward with Bulgarian one that few people posted about here mainly because of the price because I'm on tight budget and my trip is about to end. I only need liability for month and half through EU countries. These is a lack of communication with the one in bulgaria and it seems it will take another 7-10 days for them to do this. Can anyone recommend reasonably priced agency that can do this in day or two, someone who's willing to communicate and make this happen. I got quoted 140 euros for 3 months. Something around that or possible cheaper would be great. Option to buy only two months would be great if possible.

Perhaps slightly off topic, but did no one tell you that you are in the [B]EU?
Welcome to the most heavily policed, rule and contradiction infested place on earth. Every country has a myriad contradictory laws about EVERYTHING, then there are things called 'EU directives' that usually, but not always take precedence over 'national laws', but are then further muddied by being interpreted differently in every EU country, sometimes subtly differently, sometimes in a the fashion of polar opposite. Then factor in that most of Southern Europe (including Spain) is under a weird kind of dictatorial control from Brussels/Berlin due to the 'fiscal crisis' and there are a whole new list of hoops to jump through.
There are a few options if you search through the various threads, but just to add something new, I have managed to insure non-Irish vehicles in Ireland (which gives EU wide cover) simply by having an address and nothing more. I have never tried it with a non-EU vehicle, but it should be possible. The Baltic states offer some form of green card insurance too.

Renimus:
Dooby (post above) is a good guy, I have met him in person and can vouch for him. Get in touch with him and he will look after you.
Also: You mentioned in another post that you are on your way to Morocco. Whatever insurance you get for Europe will not be valid in Morocco. You can buy Moroccan insurance within the port complex, right after you get off the ferry and before you leave the port area. It costs about €100 for one month of coverage. Be sure to buy the Moroccan insurance before you leave the port area, it is difficult (if not impossible) to get it after you have left the port area.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
