Riding in Europe with Indonesia SIM C drivers license, no IDP?
Have no residence in Europe or Indonesia, can I hit the road without trouble? Thanks.

As long as you have a full licence from somewhere, you should be fine. However, I have no idea what if any restrictions there on a SIM C licence, so need to be sure that you riding in accordance with those rules. For example, if it limited you to 125cc, then you need to abide by that. You ALSO need to have INSURANCE. THAT may be harder to get, if not impossible without residency somewhere. There are loads of discussion threads on getting insurance in Europe, check them out, and when you're talking to insurance providers clarify that your drivers licence is satisfactory.

There is no limits of motorcycle engine size on SIM C, but the trouble is, it's only in Indonesian language (beside my picture and data) would be betterr if I get notarized translantion of it in English?

In many countries you can get an International Drivers Permit from whomever issues the main drivers licence - the IDP is a TRANSLATION of your drivers licence, it is NOT a licence. It's usually inexpensive, $30 or so. It's recognized in many countries, ignored in many, and you may never need it - but it's very good to have if requested, and considering almost no one will speak or read Indonesian, worth a try.

I agree with Grant: Get an IDP.

You don't have to be a citizen or resident of a country to get an IDP, all you need is a driver licence from that country & then to pay the fee (typically about USD $20 or so) to the organization in the country that issues the IDP.

The IDP will show that you are licenced to ride a motorcycle. That should be sufficient to satisfy any inquiries by authorities that you encounter along the way.

It's up to you to comply with any restrictions that might exist on your Indonesian licence. In other words, if your Indonesian licence restricts you to a certain engine size, don't go over that. If you ever have an accident further detailed inquiries will be made to determine if you were adequately licenced to ride the motorcycle you were riding.

Hi dds7070,

As a fellow Indonesia who also planning a ride across Europe, i'm very interested to know more about your plan.

I will be in Sweden for a business trip (sep 1-13), and currently trying my best to make that dream ride a reality. Found some ads for used Triumph on marketplace, currently seeking some advise on paperworks, etc.

For anyone who have any experience of purchasing used bike and take it to ride across Europe, please do enlight me as well.

If you only have a few days to ride, no point in buying a bike in your name, even if paperwork was not a problem. Rent one instead.
