Is there a members hosting members thread?

Hi all,

I'm from Canada and am more of a frequent user of advrider as opposed to HUBB. Advrider has a "tent space" map that shows members who are willing to host travellers on their adventure. I am both a host and have been hosted by other members. Is there a similar map for HUBB?

I am planning on riding around Europe for a few months in the spring/summer of 2023. No route set, and even when I am there, I am going to try and keep things flexible.

Not that I know of although I have been hosted by a couple of community members in the past, I have used the tent space thread a few times which has not only given me somewhere to stay but the opportunity to meet some great people, I have hosted travellers through a referral by other HUBB members in the past but a dedicated thread might be a good idea.

Meeting other members is indeed the most valuable part of the experience. Going for rides, talking bikes, and talking trips is very enjoyable.

Mark, I'm shocked! I'd have thought you knew of the HU Communities!
Over 800 Communities in 116 countries full of people willing to help travellers. The first Community, Melbourne Australia, was started in 2000!
See the HU Communities Information page.

I have used it for advice several times but never thought of it as a place to ask for somewhere to stay although it has been offered and gratefully received a few times, whereas the tent space thread is explicity for hosting.

Thanks Grant

I checked it out. Seems like a good function. One thing that would be nice is if you could choose multiple communities at once, i.e. to cover a bigger area

That's an anti-spam measure! Just imagine a spammer sending crap to every one!
You CAN do one at a time quickly, submit, back, choose another one, submit etc. No need to retype your message.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
