First Blind women to circle the World.
It is with great sadness that I have just read of the passing of Cathy, Bernards beloved wife. Cathy was the first Blind Women to Circle the world on a motorbike. I received her book for Xmas, Touching the World & if only she new how many hearts she actually touched as well, Cathy you were truly an inspiration not only to the Biker but to the Community at large. R.I.P.
You will be greatly missed, & deepest of sympathies to you Bernard & Cathy will want you to draw from her strength to get you thru this sad time....you will remain in our thoughts and Prayers.

No doubt she was a truly special person. Strength to her husband and family, may she rest in peace.

thank you
Just a line to thank you for your kind thoughts.
I have only just found this thread and thought I would take the time to acknowledge it.
As you can imagine life is not great at the moment but everybody keeps telling me that it will get better. Five weeks in and it doesn't feel so but people tell me it's because I am the way I am.
Best wishes and thank you once again.
Bernard.

Bernard, try to focus on the happy memories. Easier said than done, I know, but it can help. I re-read your book very recently. Cathy has touched many people's lives. Take solice in that if you can. Best wishes, Dom.

thank you
That's lovely of you to say and I suppose in time it will be possible. For now I'm just trying to get through each part of each day the best I can. Day 38 today - not that I'm counting..........
Best wishes.

New to Horizons Unlimited?

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
