Kle 500 a Story - Not starting
Hi. I am new here and english is not my first languange, so sorry in advance for any mistakes..
So, Let me tell u a short story
I have a Kle 500 93' model i thing. Ten years ago, (yes 10 years) one bolt of the starter loosen and the fuel tank was leeking gas. So the bike "fire'd" up. All the wiring are gone, carburetor, etc etc.
After 10 years. Now.
I desided that i want to fix my bike again.
So i have change all the wires with new(used) i have change carburetor, fuel tank(too rasty to clean) i have change sparks, battery of course, the fuse box,the starter buttons(up at the handbar) and some other parts.
Now, when i try to start the bike, the relay works, the motor turns, the sparks sparkle?(i dont know the correct word) but the bike wont start.
1.I have check the carburetor and the fuel tank, it drains fuel.
2. the sparks works
3. the rottary with the magnets are at the correct possition.
4. i have a battery charger so i charge the battery often(its a new battery)
5. Of course new fuel in the tank
What else can i check?

Hi and Ariox
It sounds like you have all the correct ingredients in the correct order so far
Have you checked that the air flow is clear to the carby ? The airbox under the seat may be damaged.
Make sure there is not a rag stuffed in the airbox, wasp nests etc ?
Is the slide on the carby actually sliding ?
You may be getting too much fuel and flooding the engine also.
Hope this helps you get a bit closer

Hi and thnks for the replay.
I have remove the airfilter. It was to damaged to keep.
I have order a new one, i will have it soon.
Yes the carbs slides are moving. The guy i bought them a few days now told me that are clean and ready to use.
Is there a change that the engine is damaged after almost ten years of waiting?
Or maybe after a lot of tries to start it up that the gas overflow in the carbs?
If i am getting to much fuel and flooding the engine,
How can i check it and clean it?

Too much fuel you can smell in the air. In that case, just turn off the fuel tap.
If you have tried to start it for too long with fuel overflow, it will end up in the sump with your oil. NOT good.
If you try to start it for about 2 minutes, if it does not start, remove the spark plug and see if it is wet.
You can turn the fuel off, turn the motor over to pump out some excess vapour & liquid, while the plug is out. Dry the plug & start again. Check the spark also, BUT, not with too much fuel vapour in the air

I checked the flywill and i thing i smelled fuel.
is this bad?
i will check the things you told me and answer you.

So,
I clean the carbs, remove excess fluids.
Still wont start.
Checked the sparks again not wet this time,
Both of them sparkles, fuel running from the tank to the carbs.
Still not starting..
I.am.running low of ideas

It is in the carbies, diaphrams or the lack of air filter (my guess)
The air filter provides a small vacuum restriction to the air side of the carbs.
Although it should start without it, the engine will not rev.
There are plenty of reason an engine will not start. These are only a few suggestions.
A weak performing CDI unit, amongst other things to look at.
Do a bit of research on a Kawasaki forum, it may trigger more ideas for you

I clean the carbs again, even the seller told me that he clean them.
Anyway. i took them apart, as the manual suggests. clean them.
The bike started after 2-3 mins. i slowly open the gas 2-3 times and after a little(les than a min) turned off again. But it started (difficult) again.
Now i will turn the bikes to parts, clean it all, and then assembly it again.
It have a lot of problems to be fixed. But now that i heard it start i can start the rebuild!
