Ferry from UAE/Oman to Iran
Hello, me and a friend are going on a cruise in the Middleeast soon. I've checked online and I noticed that there were ferries from both Muscat and Khasab (Oman) and Dubai (UAE) to Iran (Qeshm Island, Bandar Lengeh).
We talked about it through and decided we would try to go.
Does anyone here have any experience with the ferry?
How do one get tickets? Price?
How often does the ferry go? I
s there possible to get visa-upon-arrival when taking the boat? We're both Scandinavian. We are thinking of a one day trip.

The ferry from Muscat leaves 2 times per months only. It is a fast ferry going to Chabahar near the pakistani border. As it is a new service, difficult to estimate the reliability. It seams the cars are taken out by a crane in Chabahar. The cost is reasonable' 320 R.O. or 750 us dollars for 2 persons and a 7.5 truck.. Contact is alzumorrod@outlook.com or 96895205000.
From Sharjah to Bandar Abbas the cost is similar, the ferry older and slower. It leaves 2 times a week with vehicules. The contact in Sharjah is al Hili Marine Services at info@alhili.com.
In both case, up to 50% should be added for port expenses' customs' etc. May be less from Muscat.

Hi Pierre,
Great info.
Is the Al Hili Marine Services office the place where you buy the ferry tickets in Sharjah ?
Where are they located in Sharjah ?
Best,
Levelo.

Thanks Keith.
I actually called them up.
Turns out the crossings are cancelled during Norooz ( the Persian New Year ) : 2 weeks without ferries...
The passenger catamaran between Dubai and Bandar Lengeh should be running though, I may hop on it with my bicycle. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the information. The journey takes 3.5 hours, quite impressive.
