hard to exactly pinpoint but my guess is somewhere near Tilout. They appear to have travelled north up the Dades from Kelaat Mgouna

The ex-Navo and I feel we recognize it.But we think it was slightly widened about 2019 and the stone wall on the inside lane is no longer there.Bit of a ring piece gripping decent in the LRD.

Glad you asked, it was bugging me as well.

From his website when he was travelling with Jean-Louis Grauby, "Friday 2/25/2011: We are leaving the hospitality of the Skoura's palmeraie for the Dades' Gorge.

Sunday 2/27/2011: We spend 3 days in the mountains between the Dades Gorge and the Togra Gorge, sleeping in the mountains and drinking tea in a Berber's tent, we had a great time."

But how do these dates tie in with the photo caption, "during the 8th year of 'thetimelessride'. Ten years on the road on his 2008 Ural Sportsman"?

Assuming the valley to the left is the Dades, it must be a good 300m or even more above the river level. Not many places like that with a track. Kefroun is similar but there's no ascending track. Nothing like this between M'semrir and Tamtattouchte.

So no wiser.

RIP Hubert

Since the image changes regularly thought I'd add a permalink, otherwise it could be confusing!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
