Hotels near Tanger Med ?

Hello,

I plan to arrive in Tanger Med next week (monday or wednesday). The ferry from Barcelona arrives very late (23 or midnight), so I do not except to leave before 1 or 2 am with customs etc, and I'm not very fond of starting driving at night for my first time in Morroco !
I found on the web almost no hotel near Tanger Med (and pretty expensive), everything is in Tanger, 45mn drive...
Do you know if it's easy to find an hotel in Tanger Med in the middle of the night ? Just in case I find nothing, is it advisable to camp somewhere in the area ?

Thanks for your help !

Tangier Med is just a port, but it is new and spacious. With a camper, I'd expect that you could sleep there untill morning. The motorways are remarkably good. You could consider driving on a motorway at night . Not the other roads though. The motorways have hassle free service areas where you can stop the night and even put up a tent at some.

You will get better snswers from the frequent travellers.

Nearest decent hotel that I've used is the Ibis in Fnediq, see

Google Maps reckons 28 minutes, I'd say more like 40-45 mins. Really interested if anyone has alternative suggestions.

Hotel with safe parking and just a couple of hundred meters beyond the Roundabout as you head down towards motorway from the port
we stayed there in March it has a small cafe overlooking the road for food
Good value but I cannot remember the name or the exact price

That was our first stop on our first visit to Morocco. Accessible on the motorway. What beautiful town to wake up to.

Hotel Azeylah in Assilah

We've used it a few times now incl checking in after midnight.

MAD300 for twin(in fact 3). Guardien in street and 50m up the road,in the square, you will get great 'Petit Dujenier avec omlette' for about MAD 25.
