Insider info
One of the secrets shared by Hans A Muth during the event was how he saw the GS come to be. Hans clarified by saying that if it had not been for Hardy Muller (seen in photo with Muth April 10) figuring out how to work the prototype GS into the production line it would not have been. It was a fun reunion to see and hear Muller and Muth recount how the GS went from a concept to coming off the production line when "nobody is working" in the motorcycle division at BMW. Muth said had it not been for Hardy there would have been no GS.
"You can release and for the correctness: ist Hardy Müller, at that time Product-Planer for BMW Motorcycles and the Man who get the right feeling in autum 1978 by coming in my office and begged me to do something, because nobody is working anymore in the BMW Motorcycle GmbH due to the rumor that this section of BMW is in danger for a shut-down.And this is followed by looking out the window of one of these two men with an initial idea which lead to today's most wanted, produced and sold BMW Motorcycle categorie the GS-models..
