Land Rover mechanic/ parts in Western Sahara / Mauritania

Hey guys,

Looking for some Land Rover Series parts. (That also fit our Santana PS10).
We are now in Akhfennir and going to Mauritania.

Not really in a hurry (it's about some seals and grease mostly, and some spares).

Somebody got some info? Thanks in advance.

Morocco is excellent for getting help, south thereof it can be tricky. I drive Toyota but have not had much luck sourcing parts and help south of Agadir/Tiznit.

Wasted too much time looking for parts and service in Layoune and Dahkla. Better chances in Nouakchott. If going there, give Abou a call +222 33613343 he will help you out. French/arab only.

There are plenty of series and Santana Land Rovers in WS. I would be suprised if you can't get simple parts in Laaoune - I parked up in my 110 (which is painted pale green like the local series 3s) by a bank in the new town and was approached in the nicest possible way (ie not like the high pressure, forceful "you come to my work shop NOW..." Moroccan style) by two separate guys asking if I needed any assistance.
As it was, all I needed was directions to the road south!

If you're heading north, and not desperate, maybe post in the Morocco section for someone to bring some stuff down to you - season is starting - there must be scores of people heading south from europe.

I agree with Moss, loads of ancient S3s in WS, and Layounne would be the place for bits. I imagine they will all be pattern from Asia, not Solihull.
Last time I was in Mori, many S3s grounded for want of simple spares.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
